Quiet Waters

Name of the Paddle: Quiet Waters

Display Location: Boyd Heritage Museum

Artist Name:  Ron Egan

Medium: Created with acrylic and oil paints

Artist Bio:
I had a marina near Bobcaygeon for 42 years. I spent most of my life working on the beautiful lakes of the Trent Waterway. I travelled to 70 countries during the winters. These travels are the inspiration for many of my paintings. I study Spanish as a hobby and spend as much time as I can kayaking and paddle boarding on the Waterway. My artwork is exhibited year round at the Ashburnham Ale House in Peterborough.

Paddle description:
Turtles are abundant on the waterway. In my turtle design I have incorporated the Chinese symbol for peace and balance. I find paddling is relaxing, almost meditative—-being one with nature.
