The fish are biting all along the TSW—get expert tips on fishing the region
Stock up, set out, and cast a line
Fishing is a big deal in the Trail Towns—so big, in fact, that in 2012 Hastings was named Ultimate Fishing Town Canada. Fish are biting all throughout the region, however, and these tips and recommendations can help you have the best possible day on the water.

Where to Fish
Bobby Belmonte of 2B Fishing has a passion for the sport that runs deep, and the knowledge to help seasoned and novice anglers alike to experience the best of the region. Bobby recently took us on a tour of Buckhorn Lake, and our feature article on the subject serves as a good primer on fishing in Kawarthas Northumberland.
If you’re wondering where to launch from, refer to our Boating page.

Hastings: Ultimate Fishing Town
Hastings is prime territory for anglers, and it’s got the 2012 Ultimate Fishing Town Canada award to prove it. Fish from the bridge in the middle of town—the only roadway bridge in Ontario you can legally fish from—and catch muskie, walleye, bass, pickerel, and more.
Even if you’re not the fishing type, you may be curious to pay a visit to Pisces Pete, a large sculpture of a pickerel at 3 Dit Clapper Drive that celebrates the town’s love of the sport. Head to our dedicated Hastings page to find more info on the town.
