Ladies' Day Out Shopping in Lindsay

Lindsay’s downtown is home to apparel shops, cafés, and other spots perfect for a day of browsing and exploring

Lindsay is a charming town on the Trent-Severn Waterway, connected to the main navigation channel via the Scugog River, which branches off Sturgeon Lake. Home to Lock 33, Lindsay offers boaters easy access to Lake Scugog and is just steps from a vibrant downtown filled with restaurants, cafes, and lots of fantastic shopping!

You’ll be surprised by the number of ladies’ clothing stores found in downtown Lindsay. There are so many choices in such a small area that we decided to create a Ladies Day Out in Lindsay Shopping Itinerary! Whether you want to take a road trip or venture to Lindsay by boat, it is worth the journey for the slew of locally owned boutiques offering curated items that you won’t find in the big box stores.

Kindred Coffee Bar

Stop #1 – Kindred Coffee Bar

Trendy coffee bar meets small town warmth. Owned and operated by Dara and Victoria, this welcoming space was born from their shared vision of creating a true community hub. At Kindred, it’s about more than just great coffee—they serve all-day breakfast and lunch, with a focus on quality ingredients and feel-good food. Just like its name suggests, Kindred is a place where everyone is made to feel at home and connected. This place will start your day off right with a fresh brew, some healthy brekkie, and cozy conversations.

Stop # 2 – Bonita Clothing and Co.

Just around the corner from Kindred Coffee Bar on Cambridge Street, you’ll find Bonita Clothing & Co and John G’s Menswear. Bonita offers a carefully curated selection of pieces perfect for everything from a day at the office to coffee dates at Kindred, country music festivals, vineyard strolls, or sunflower field photo ops. Think timeless style with a country-chic twist.

Florals for spring? Always groundbreaking here.

You’ll also find hats, jewelry, footwear, and other fabulous accessories, plus classic styles for men in their dedicated John G section.

Homethreads Boutique

Stop #3 – Homethreads Boutique

Back on Kent Street, Homethreads Boutique proudly offers everyday clothes for everyday women, with sizes ranging from XS to XXXL. If you love smart casual and cozy, this place will have your new favourites!

Find a variety of denim, elevated basics, the popular Smash + Tess rompers, dresses, and dusters—and of course, the must-have items to finish off your fit: purses, jewellery, and shoes.

Stop #4 – Kent Florist

You wouldn’t know it from their website, but this is so much more than just a flower shop. In fact, there’s so much to explore before you even reach the flowers, you might not realize you’ve walked into a florist at all!

Kent Florist has strong East Coast roots, so instead of the usual cottage and “lake life” decor, you’ll find nautical-inspired treasures. The shop is packed with gardening essentials, kitchen goodies, and a massive collection of Jellycats. You could easily spend hours browsing beach towels, journals, housecoats, aprons—the list goes on.

Don’t get us wrong, the flowers are stunning too, with arrangements influenced by owner Ann’s travels. We caught her assembling the most gorgeous bouquet featuring bird of paradise and vibrant red and purple blooms.

But honestly? It’s the giftware and home goods that will have us making the trip back from out of town!

Cathy Allan Ladieswear

Stop # 5 – Cathy Allan Ladieswear

Cathy Allan has been a downtown Lindsay staple for 25 years. Their curated selection blends timeless classics with standout, show-stopping pieces. You’ll find beloved brands like Tommy Bahama, Tango Mango, and Pure Essence alongside unique finds sourced from Europe.

Expect to leave with something special that turns into your most-asked-about outfit.

Stop # 6 – Milk and Honey Eatery

Lindsay has no shortage of great restaurants to choose from in its downtown — The Pie Eyed Monk, Olympia, Gusto Grande, and Ziggy’s Fish & Chips, just to name a few. All fantastic options!
But for our Ladies’ Day Out in Lindsay, Milk & Honey Eatery is our go-to lunch spot. This cafe-style restaurant offers healthy light lunch choices from gourmet paninis grilled on sourdough, artisan-style sandwiches, homemade soups, delicious salads, creative wraps, and crustless quiche. Rehydrate with their homemade iced tea or lemonade, garnished with seasonal berries. You’ll also find a selection of coffee, teas, fruit juices, and their tasty sunshine smoothies.

Light, fresh, and full of flavour—you’ll feel good inside and out for the rest of the day.

Brittany and Bros

Stop #7 – Brittany and Bros

Independently owned since 1998, Brittany & Bros has been a go-to in downtown Lindsay for stylish Canadian and European designs. Originally opened by Tammy Thompson Letham, the shop is now run by her daughter Brittany, a true fashion entrepreneur who grew up surrounded by retail racks and style inspiration.

Brittany and Bros pride themselves on offering high-quality pieces that balance comfort, style, and on-trend flair.

You’ll find flowy linens, laid-back casual wear, and chic resort-ready looks that feel as good as they look.

Looking for shoes to match? You’re in luck — our next stop has just the thing to complete your look.

Stop #8 – Brittany’s Shoes

Our final stop is Brittany’s Shoes—Brittany’s second retail shop in downtown Lindsay. Whether you’re after something stylish, practical, or both, this shop has the perfect pair to complete your look. From classic Blundstones and comfy Riekers to summer-ready sandals and the waterproof travel shoe Vessi, your new favourite shoes might just be waiting here.
